One of the pioneer resorts in Boracay NIGI NIGI  which opened it's doors to the public over 20 years ago has recently ran VIC ALCUAZ's 'EXCELLENT! IT'S ALL ABOUT ATTITUDE!' training program for the resort's pioneer and front line staff consisting of bartenders, waiters, housekeepers and front desk staff.

Nigi Nigi is popular for it's Polynesian styled cottages and gardens as well as their very busy bar and restaurant. The resort is near station 2 and sits right in front of the world famous Boracay beach.

Vic Alcuaz conducted the workshops and was assisted by Life-Coach Bel Ochoa. Delnora Nano, a major owner of the resort and Bollie Bolton, Senior Operations Manager contracted the training expertise of Vic Alcuaz for this endeavor.

AHRM 15th Mabuhay Awards hosted by Vic Alcuaz and Cory QuirinoThe Association of Human Resources Managers in the Hospitality industry (AHRM) recently concluded the 15th Mabuhay Awards at the Diamond Hotel Philippines.

The association once again awarded distinctions of honor to the best manager, supervisor and rank & file staff to 51 finalists from the hospitality industry. among the winners were the Sofitel Philippine Plaza, the Crown Plaza & the Pan Pacific Manila. The Mabuhay Gold Award (hotelier of the year) was given to former hotelier and now dean of the school of Hotel & Restaurant Institution Management (SHRIM) of the De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde, Dean Letty Delarmente. the eveningʼs guest of honor was Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz of the Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE). AHRM Lifetime Member Vic Alcuaz and multi-media personality and fitness guru Cory Quirino were hosts of the awards night.

ITHC Supervisors and Managers Graduates with Vic Alcuaz, Belle Ochoa Moreno and ITHC ExecutivesThe International Trade and Holding Company Kuwait, owner of the Movenpick Hotel Kuwait, SwissBel Hotel Kuwait and the Convention Center & Royal Suites, Kuwait recently honored the managers and supervisors who participated in 2 training programs namely: ENGAGING EXECUTIVES and SUPERVISE NOW. Engaging Executives was a 3-day workshop for their top level executives on leadership training. On the other hand Supervise Now was a 2-day training on practical day to-day supervisory skills for their mid-level managers and supervisors. Chef Nani has over 20 years experience in various first class tourist establishments and cruise liners among them the Sea Dream Yacth Club, Silver Sea Cruise Line, Seabourn Cruise Line and the Crown Cruise Line. Starting as a Baker in 1991, Chef Nani proved his creativity and leadership in the kitchen and quickly moved up the ʻkitchen ladderʼ until his most recent position as Pastry Chef. Addis International Catering prides itself of having an impressive list of clients among them Emirates Airline, KLM, Egypt Air and Saudi Arabian Airlines.

The Bayleaf Intramuros' Ed VitugAtty. Roberto Laurel, President of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) and the soon to open The Bayleaf Intramuros, a destination-botique hotel has appointed ED VITUG, itʼs pre-opening General Manager effective October 18, 2010. As GM, Ed will oversee all the functions of this new hotel comprising of Food & Beverage, Rooms, Marketing & Sales, Finance and Human Resources & Administration. The 56-room hotel is expected to open its doors by April 2011.

Ed is an experienced hotelier having started his career as an Assistant Restaurant Manager at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila in 1992. When he moved to his next appoinment in 2001, Ed was already EDSAʼs Director of Banquet Operations. He was assigned to the Shangri-la Hotel Jakarta in the same position that year. In 2003, he was part of the preopening task force for the Shangri-la Dubai lending support to the F&B team. That same year he returned to the Philippines as F&B Manager of the Makati Shangri-la Hotel until 2007. His biggest break came when the newly rebranded Sofitel Philippine Plaza offered him the top post as F&B Director. One of his greatest challenges at the Sofitel was preopening the totally renovated coffee shop now called Spiral, which remains one of the top hotel restaurants in the Philippines.

Before joining The Bayleaf, Ed was F&B Director of the Intercontinental Manila.
